A 1963 Impala SS 409 convertible with factory air is most uncommon. Chevrolet’s Z03 Super Sport package was limited to two-door sport coupes and convertibles. This 409 is a L31 and has a single four-barrel carb which produces 400 HP with 425 lb-ft of torque at 3600 RPM.
This car has been completely restored with a white top still in good condition.
The upgraded Tremec five-speed manual transmission is great for high-speed driving (the original 4 speed is included). The car feels light, eager, and at sixty-three years old still commands the road. On the open road this 409 pulls clean through all the gears (fourth is direct and fifth is overdrive at .063:1). The Tremec is the part that lets you use it: stronger launch, lower cruise rpm, a shifter that never disappoints!
Lovingly restored by my ASE certified mechanic this year (2026)
